Axios reported that the notice stated: "At this time, 'DeepSeek ' is under review by the Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives and is not currently authorized for official use in the House."
The notice warned that "threat actors are exploiting the 'DeepSeek' program to deliver malicious software and compromise devices .
Adding that "to mitigate these risks, the House of Representatives has taken security measures to restrict the functionality of 'DeepSeek' on all devices issued by the House."
The notice also stated that employees are prohibited from downloading the 'DeepSeek' app on any official phones, computers, or tablets.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the use of an AI product has been restricted for employees, despite other targeted companies in the U.S.
In 2023, restrictions were imposed on the use of ChatGPT, with only the paid version of the OpenAI chatbot allowed for certain tasks.
