The Russian space agency "Roscosmos" has announced the names of the Russian astronauts who will be sent to the International Space Station aboard American Crew Dragon spacecraft during 2025 and 2026.
A statement issued by the agency said: " Russian astronaut Oleg Platonov has been selected as a crew member of the Crew Dragon spacecraft ,that will be launched to the International Space Station in the second half of 2025. It has also been decided to send Russian astronaut Oleg Artemyev aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft, to the space station in the first half of 2026. In the coming months, Russian astronaut Kirill Peskov will also be sent aboard an American spacecraft to the International Space Station."
Roscosmos also indicated that two American astronauts will be sent to the International Space Station aboard the Russian Soyuz MS-28 and Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft.
In the fall of this year, astronaut Christopher Williams will be sent aboard a Soyuz spacecraft to the station, and in the summer of 2026, American astronaut Anil Menon will also be sent aboard a Soyuz spacecraft.
Roscosmos had announced on July 15, 2022, the signing of an agreement with NASA regarding joint spaceflights to the International Space Station.
As part of this agreement, American astronauts traveled to the station aboard Russian Soyuz spacecraft, while Russian astronauts traveled aboard American Crew Dragon spacecraft.
Earlier, Roscosmos and NASA had announced the extension of the joint spaceflight program until 2025-2026.
