Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno on Friday concluded a three-day official visit to Algeria, after the two nations signed 28 agreements and memoranda of understanding spanning key sectors including industry, trade and public works.
According to the joint declaration, Mahamat and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed "full satisfaction" with the quality of bilateral ties and reaffirmed their determination to reinvigorate them.
On security cooperation, the two leaders agreed to increase coordination on border security, intelligence sharing and capacity building.
In the economic sphere, the two sides agreed to focus on energy, mining, renewable energy and transport, with an emphasis on skills transfer, capacity building, and value addition in the natural resources sector.
On regional issues, the two presidents reaffirmed their support for political solutions in Libya, the Sahel and Sudan based on respect for state sovereignty, and for a political settlement of the Western Sahara issue.
