Iraqi security forces conducted an airborne operation in northeastern Syria, arresting two high-value suspects wanted by the Iraqi judiciary, the Iraqi military said on Thursday.

The Iraqi Falcon Intelligence Cell, operating under the Interior Ministry, conducted the operation in coordination with Syrian security forces, read a statement by the Security Media Cell, a media outlet affiliated with the Iraqi Joint Operations Command.

Operations as such enhance the ability to confront cross-border security challenges and protect national interests, read the statement.

The statement did not specify the names of the suspects.
