Russia and Ukraine exchanged announcements Wednesday about downing drones, at a time when the conflict between the two countries has been ongoing since Feb. 24, 2022.
Ukrainian Air Force announced that Ukrainian air defenses shot down 57 of the 97 hostile drones launched by Russia into Ukrainian territory last night, while 34 aircraft disappeared from radar screens.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that its air defense systems intercepted 26 Ukrainian drones launched by Ukraine last night.
The statement added that nine drones were destroyed over the territory of Voronezh Region, eight drones over Belgorod Region, four drones over Kursk Region, two drones over Lipetsk Region, two drones over the Republic of Crimea, and one drone over Moscow Region.
