UAE air defense systems respond to missile, drone threats

The United Arab Emirates' air defense systems are responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran, the Ministry of Defense said on Friday.

In a statement issued at 6:40 a.m. local time (0240 GMT), the ministry said air defense systems were actively engaging incoming missiles and drones.

The ministry added that the sounds heard across parts of the country were the result of interception operations carried out by air defense systems.

Authorities urged the public to remain in safe locations and follow official channels for further warnings and updates.
