Britain has begun withdrawing personnel from a United States military base in Qatar, Sky News reported on Wednesday.
The move comes amid rising tensions in the region after U.S. President Donald Trump told protesters in Iran that "help is on its way" and warned of "very strong action" against Iran.
Iran has repeatedly threatened to retaliate against U.S. military facilities across the Middle East in the event of an American strike. The United States has also started pulling some personnel from the U.S.-run Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American military base in the region.
It remains unclear whether all British personnel are being withdrawn from the base.
