Mayoof Al Rumaihi, a rider from the Ministry of Interior's showjumping team, secured the Grand Prix title of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) with his horse, Calvados. The championship, held yesterday at the Military Sports Union arena, witnessed broad participation from local riders and stables.
Al Rumaihi won the Grand Prix title, the sixth competition in the advanced third-level category (qualifier for the jump-off round), with obstacles set at heights of 140-145 cm and a course speed of 350 metres per minute, achieving first place with a time of 45.70 seconds.
Hussain Mohammed Dadallah, also from the Ministry of Interior team, claimed second place with his horse, Al Fateh, in 50.78 seconds and took third place with his second horse, Verdi, clocking 45.70 seconds with four faults.
Fourth place went to Sultan Al Rumaihi with his horse, Mithaq, in 55.89 seconds, while Mayoof Al Rumaihi also secured fifth place with his second horse, Ghayath, in 61.05 seconds and four faults. Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) team rider Ahmed Mansour claimed sixth place with a time of 55.51 seconds and 12 faults.
After the competitions, Huda Janahi from the Showjumping Committee presented awards to the winners. She praised their performance, the efforts of their stables, and the organisers for the event's success, noting the season's promise of excellence based on past results. Janahi thanked His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF, for his support in advancing showjumping.
She also thanked Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Head of the Showjumping Committee, and the committee members for their outstanding efforts, wishing all participants success in upcoming competitions. The season's opening championship began last Friday with the first junior-level competition (jump-off round), featuring obstacle heights of 90-100 cm and a course speed of 350 metres per minute. Hussain Al Asfoor claimed first place with his horse, Sasha, completing the course in 26.31 seconds.
Sultan Al Rumaihi took second place with his horse, Shaheen, in 26.81 seconds, while Abdullah Khonji secured third place with his horse, Mars, in 27.12 seconds. Fourth place went to Hussain Al Mandeel with his horse, Gin Tonic, in 29.48 seconds, followed by Ali Hussain with his horse, Emily Al Jazeera, in 29.86 seconds, and Hanan Al Mahmeed with her horse, Hope, in 31.28 seconds. In the second junior-level competition (two-phase round) with obstacles set at 100-110 cm, Sultan Al Rumaihi from the Ministry of Interior team won first place with his horse, Irish, finishing in 31.03 seconds. Belle Carter, riding Mashaallah, took second place in 31.34 seconds, followed by Hussain Al Mandeel with Gin Tonic in 31.49 seconds.
Ali Hussain secured fourth place with Emily Al Jazeera in 32.49 seconds, while Zaid Al Harm came fifth with Golders in 32.87 seconds. Ali Hussain claimed sixth place again with his second horse, Trimophy, in 36.31 seconds. In the first general-level competition (two-phase round) with obstacles set at 100-110 cm, Sultan Al Rumaihi, riding Estoril, claimed his first general-level victory with a time of 27.18 seconds. Riders from the Ministry of Interior team dominated, securing the top six places.
Mohammed Ali Radhi came second and third with his horses, Golden Eyes and Brezza, completing the courses in 28.18 and 28.22 seconds, respectively. Sultan Al Rumaihi placed fourth with Adonis in 28.23 seconds, followed by Hussain Mohammed Dadallah with Al Haddar in 28.30 seconds, and Mayoof Al Rumaihi with Lamitre in 28.32 seconds. In the second advanced-level competition (speed against time) with obstacles at 120 cm, the Ministry of Interior riders maintained their dominance.
Hussain Mohammed Dadallah claimed first place with his horse, Al Haddar, completing the course in 52.92 seconds. Sayed Mohammed Khalaf took second place with Candy in 54.05 seconds, followed by Sultan Al Rumaihi with Moqaddam in 55.90 seconds. Badr Janahi placed fourth with Kazakzlina in 59.78 seconds, while Hamad Fakrawi took fifth and sixth with Kakmazaki and Jackpot in 69.21 and 69.57 seconds, respectively.
In the fifth competition (accumulator with joker) with obstacles set at 130 cm, Hussain Mohammed Dadallah showcased a strong performance, winning with his horse, Al Fateh, finishing in 40.41 seconds with 44 points. Ahmed Mansour from the Bahrain Defence Force team claimed second place with Konzola, also finishing in 40.41 seconds with 44 points.
Riders from the Ministry of Interior team dominated the remaining top positions. Hussain Mohammed Dadallah took third with his second horse, Freddie, in 40.78 seconds with 44 points, followed by Sultan Al Rumaihi with Mithaq in 42.34 seconds with 44 points. Mayoof Al Rumaihi secured fifth and sixth places with Calvados in 44.05 seconds with 44 points and Ghayath in 48.70 seconds with 43 point
