Ireland has witnessed for the first time in its history, the construction of a two-story residential building using 3D printing technologies .
The house, consisting of three apartments ,with an area of 330 square meters and located in the town of Louth in eastern Ireland, has become a clear example of the possibilities of 3D printing.
The project includes three separate two-story homes, each with an area of 110 square meters.
One house was built in just 132 days, which is 35% faster than traditional construction for similar homes .
According to COBOD, the company behind the BOD2 3D printing technology, about 50% of the time was saved thanks to 3D printing of the walls. With the wall construction process taking only 12 days .
The remaining time was saved ,due to the high precision of 3D printing technology . Which allowed for the design and integration of internal walls, ceilings, and roof-supporting elements directly during the design phase.
This technology , could provide an effective solution to the global housing crisis. Especially in areas where fast and cost-effective construction is needed.
