Russia breaks records in meat exports, with an Arab country among the top importers.

Meat and meat product exports from Russia saw a significant increase in 2024 compared to 2023, reaching $1.7 billion, according to preliminary estimates.

 With poultry making up the largest share at approximately 48%, followed by beef at 14%, according to the "AgroExport" agency's Telegram channel.

In 2024, poultry meat and its products saw a 17% increase, reaching $800 million, while beef exports grew by 16%, totaling more than $230 million.

Since 2019, China has been the largest importer of Russian meat, ranking first in poultry and beef imports.

Experts estimate that Russian meat sales to China increased by 14% in 2024, reaching $560 million.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia and Belarus entered the list of the top three Russian meat importers.

Saudi purchases increased by 1.9 times, reaching about $230 million, while Belarus imported $226 million worth of meat in the first ten months of 2024, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.

The Russian "AgroExport" agency predicts that Russian meat exports will exceed $3.6 billion by 2030, reflecting continued and growing growth in this sector in global markets.

In 2017, Russia obtained the necessary licenses to export several food products, including beef, poultry, and dairy products, to Saudi Arabia .

As part of the agreement, the Russian agricultural and veterinary inspection agency "Rosselkhoznadzor" independently accredits Russian companies that meet Saudi standards.

Exporters in Russia are required to provide a certificate of origin and a "halal" certificate confirming that the meat slaughter complies with Islamic law .
