Three people died after a light plane crashed south of Adelaide Friday afternoon, said South Australia Police on Saturday.

Police received reports of a light plane crashing into the ocean at about 4:20 p.m. local time, and responded immediately, it said in a statement.

All three men on board were found dead -- the 57-year-old pilot, and an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, it said, adding that the wreckage of the plane has been brought into shore.

Transport safety investigators are attending the scene on Saturday, and investigations into the crash are continuing, it said.
