A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia, at 2:58 a.m. Friday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 53.10 degrees north latitude and 160.60 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, said a report issued by the CENC.
