Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has said during a meeting with Ammar al-Hakim, leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, that cooperation between Iraq and Iran is strategic but must become more tangible and concrete under current circumstances.

Al-Hakim is one of the most prominent members of the pro-Iran Coordination Framework. Before his trip to Iran, Al-Hakim held talks with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister.

During their meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Iran’s Tasnim news agency said Larijani hailed Iraq as a friendly, strong, and like-minded country in the region. He described Tehran-Baghdad ties as strategic and underlined that in today’s dynamic environment, cooperation between the two Muslim neighbors must become more concrete and tangible.

For his part, al-Hakim said that contrary to Tel Aviv’s expectations, the Israeli strikes on Iran strengthened Iran’s regional stature.

He noted that Muslims across the region have recognized Tehran’s pivotal role in resisting aggression.

Al-Hakim also met on Saturday with Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, head of the Iranian Judiciary. He said Iran’s performance during the recent 12-day conflict with Israel is proof of the country’s resilience and growing regional influence.

Referring to the re-imposition of sanctions on Iran, Ejei said that “such policies have done some damage, and Iran does not deny it.” However, he said Iran will not surrender to America and Israel under any circumstances.

Meanwhile in Tehran and other major Iranian cities, regime military and political officials held meetings and delivered speeches to show support for the country’s defense policy and to address the recent war with Israel.

Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, the Deputy Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), said that the US animosity, which has been going on since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, has proven to be fruitless.

For his part, Iran's Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami said that during the 12-day war with the Israel, Iran was effectively fighting the essence of Western and NATO technology, which provided comprehensive support to the enemy.

“We fought against the essence of Western and NATO technology.

They gave the enemy everything it needed, and wherever the Israelis faced shortcomings, their allies stepped in to provide full support,” Hatami said.

Later, Tasnim quoted IRGC commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour as stressing that the Guards’ main mission is to strengthen the defense and military capabilities of the resistance.
