Pakistan's central bank foreign exchange reserves increased by 21 million U.S. dollars, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said Thursday.

During the week ending on Sept. 26, the banks reserves rose to 14.40 billion dollars, the SBP said in a statement.

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks were recorded at 5.40 billion dollars, the SBP added.

With the latest figures, the country's total liquid foreign reserves stood at 19.80 billion dollars as of Sept. 26, according to the central bank.
