Three members of Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Shabaab movement were killed Tuesday night during a military operation in the Galgaduud region of Galmudug State, central Somalia.
The Somali news agency (SONNA) reported that this operation is part of a series of Somali military offensives aimed at eliminating Al-Shabaab elements in the state.
Somali forces have been engaged in a prolonged battle against Al-Shabaab for over a decade. In recent months, they have successfully reclaimed several territories in the central and southern parts of the country.
