Incumbent President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadera, has won the presidential election with an absolute majority of 76.15 percent of the vote, according to provisional results released by the National Elections Authority (ANE) late Monday.

Touadera is far ahead of other competitors, including former Prime Minister Anicet-Georges Dologuele, who came second with 14.66 percent, and Henri-Marie Dondra, another former Prime Minister, who obtained 3.19 percent.

Based on the results, ANE President Mathias Barthelemy Morouba said that Touadera, candidate of the United Hearts Movement, was "provisionally elected" as president of the republic.

About 2.3 million voters were registered with a voter turnout of 52.42 percent, Morouba said while proclaiming the results.

"Thank you to the people of the Central African Republic. With 76.15 percent of the vote obtained in the first round, according to the provisional results from the National Elections Authority, your determination deserves to be commended. Together, we will continue the work," Touadera said in a post on the official social media campaign platforms shortly after the results were announced.

Touadera, 68, focused his campaign on restoring peace and enhancing development in the war-torn country. Having been in office since 2016, he was seeking re-election for a third term.

The provisional results will be submitted to the Constitutional Court, which will hear petitions before revealing the final outcome by Jan. 20.

Voting in the Central African Republic presidential, legislative, regional and municipal elections took place on Dec. 28, 2025.
