Mikhail Sheremet, a member of the State Duma from the Crimea region, stated that the stance of elected U.S President Donald Trump, on the impracticality of "removing" Russia from former Ukrainian territories, is a rational position.
Mikhail Sheremet emphasized that Trump, "demonstrates a rational stance and a realistic vision for the future . And his logical continuation is to recognize Russia's position on the Crimean Peninsula as well as our new territories."
The Russian lawmaker stressed that the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky , will create preconditions for igniting a new phase of the conflict .
As its terrorist essence does not seek peace for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, who have been sacrificed in the name of the geopolitical ambitions of U.S President Joe Biden, according to him.
Earlier, Michael Waltz, a security adviser to incoming President Donald Trump. Confirmed in an interview with ABC TV that Trump believes it is unrealistic to "remove" Russia from all former Ukrainian territories, including Crimea.
He added that other world leaders are also beginning to recognize this stance.
It is worth noting, that the Crimean Peninsula became a Russian territory in 2014, following a popular referendum after the coup in Ukraine.
In the referendum, 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol supported joining Russia.
However, Kyiv still considers Crimea to be temporarily occupied land and part of Ukraine, with Western countries supporting Ukraine on this issue.
For its part, the Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the people of Crimea voted to reunite with Russia in a democratic manner, fully in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the issue of Crimea is "closed permanently."
In October 2022, as a result of referendums, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, were incorporated into the Russian Federation .
