At least seven people were killed, and several others were injured on Monday after a bus veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Uttarakhand's Almora district in northern India. The bus was traveling from Garhwal to Kumaon when it fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand district, Indian local officials said. Rescue operations are underway, police said. Road accidents are common in India due to overloading, poor infrastructure and reckless driving.
