In his speech, Colonel Ihab Osman, the defense Attaché, emphasized the importance of the annual celebration of the October War, describing it as a timeless moment in Egypt’s history and a source of pride for all Arabs. He highlighted the admiration of the world for the determination of the Egyptian people and their sacrifices to restore their land and land and uphold justice.
He also paid tribute to the late President Anwar Sadat, affirming that his decision to go to war was made to achieve peace. He stressed that peace always requires strength to protect it, which is why the Egyptian military has embarked on comprehensive development across all branches and diversified its sources of armament. Egypt has also entered into partnerships with major countries in the field of military manufacturing and has provided its forces with the necessary weapons, equipment, and training to confront potential challenges and threats posed by regional developments while safeguarding the nation's resources, interests, and sovereignty.
Colonel Osman reiterated Egypt’s commitment to finding a solution to the Palestinian issue within the framework of the two-state solution and its rejection of efforts to dismantle the issue or forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands. He added, "Egypt possesses the wisdom to use its power to defend justice and righteousness. It does not aggress or betray but supports its brothers and stands by its friends, regardless of the challenges and difficulties. While some may claim otherwise or cast doubt, Egypt will remain eternal, and its army will continue to protect the land, support development, and preserve the rights and resources of its people both within and beyond its borders.
" He further stated, "We must not forget the role of the Egyptian army in safeguarding the country's borders, combating organized crime, and addressing the flood of illegal migration, which drains nations of their human resources and potential, especially among the youth, whether lost in the desert or at sea." The Defense Attaché praised the United Kingdom's efforts to enhance joint cooperation with Egypt, emphasizing the strength of Egyptian-British relations in various fields, particularly in the military sector, which witnesses numerous joint activities and exercises each year, providing opportunities for the exchange and transfer of expertise between the two nations. The ceremony concluded with the Defense Office staff distributing commemorative gifts to the attendees, a gesture that was warmly received and appreciated by all .
