Two people were killed when a light aircraft crashed at Vikhrevo airfield in the Moscow region in Russia on Wednesday, according to regional emergency services.
The aircraft went down in the Sergiyev Posad urban district while attempting to land, TASS news agency reported.
"The plane caught fire upon hitting the ground. Both individuals on board were killed," the report said. Emergency officials clarified that there were no casualties or injuries on the ground.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
